Both of his parents were born and raised in the west-central African country and after graduating from high school there moved to Germany to study. Emanga was actually born in France - in the city of Wissembourg along the German-French border. He grew up bilingual, speaking to his mother in French and learning German in kindergarten. He currently lives with his mother and younger sister.
